Carcassonne Refresh: Expansion

1 - Inns & Cathedrals

The Inns & Cathedrals expansion adds more ways to shape the Medieval countryside of Carcassonne. Land tiles feature two new buildings that open additional avenues to scoring points. Construct imposing cathedrals that increase your cities' value or build humble inns along your roads to double the value of your thieves. Be careful! An incomplete feature that uses an inn or cathedral will not score!

-Clever follower placement is a hallmark of Carcassonne, and Inns & Cathedrals adds another layer to this with the large meeple follower type.

-Includes components for a sixth player to join in the fun, and Points tiles to help everyone keep score.

-Adds new strategic options to you Carcassonne games!

-This is an expansion, a copy of Carcassonne is needed to play

2 - Traders & Builders

Traders & Builders adds new features and opening even more ways to outwit your opponents in Carcassonne. With the new builder follower, you can speed up construction by placing another tile immediately after you add a Land tile to a road or city that your builder occupies. Further, the pig followers and Goods tokens give you more ways to score points.

3 - Dragon & Fairy

A hungry dragon has come to settle in the surrounding countryside. Avoid crossing his path, summon the fairy to protect yourself and use the magic portal to recover lost territories!

This box offers you:

-26 New Terrain Tiles

-Magic portals allow you to place meeples anywhere. But beware, the Dragon symbol causes the dragon to awaken!

New River Tiles:

With the new Source tile, the river flows in two directions. The new Lake tile is home to the dragon's lair from which he will go hunting.

The Dragon and the Fairy:

Anticipate the movements of the dragon your meeple. Luckily, the fairy will help you protect them from the dragon.

4 - Towers & Thieves

In this expansion for Carcassonne, you build towers and place watchmen to protect your lands. The towers are contested, but if your watchmen spot the thieves, you score points as a reward.

5 - Messengers & Mayors

The mayors compete for the knights' favours while attending crisis meetings at the town hall. Messengers and scarecrows will serve you to extend your infiuence.

Place your city hall anywhere to remove the mayors from your opponents.

The mayor can be installed in occupied cities and make you win knights.

A messenger from a newly completed road travels to another road or city.

12 Scarecrows can be placed in occupied meadows and make you win peasants.

6 - Jousts & Crests

Come and participate in the King's Tournament! Select your most talented champions and win the best prizes. In the case of victory, a splendid statue will be erected in your honor.

Earn tiles by participating in the tournament. If you are the most valiant, you will have right to your statue.

1 Tournament & Crown Tile

The crown punctuates the tournament which is divided into 3 categories in order to reward the best travellers, knights or peasants.

30 Patches

Use your patches to select which meeples will participate in the tournament and increase their chances of winning.

Embellish your roads by adding bridges. Build castles where your knights will be courted by noble ladies and set up barns that will allow your peasants to harvest even more points.

9 - Sheep & Shepherds

In this expansion for Carcassonne, animals and vineyards enliven the landscape. Let your shepherd herd geese and grow his flock of sheep. But when the wolf appears, your sheep will make a run for it.

10 - Circus & Artists

Your meeples will take part in shows organized by a traveling circus! Stack them to form an impressive pyramid of acrobats and place your ringmaster nearby to score even more points.

This box includes:

• 20 new terrain tiles: Score points by stacking meeples on the acrobatic tracks to form pyramids of acrobats.

• 1 big top & 16 show tokens: The big top moves around and offers various performances.

• 6 Ringmasters: Place the Ringmaster near the tiles where the shows are taking place to score more points.

• 12 additional meeples: Even more meeples to take part in the big show.
