When Ford introduced the Bronco in 1965, off-road sport was a logical way to promote the truck. Broncos were entered in Baja 500 and Mexican 1000 races in conjunction with Bill Stroppe races. And after winning both of these events, Ford offered specially designed Baja Broncos in 1971, available only at select dealerships.
