Canada Post Strike and Shipping Disruptions
UPDATE - DECEMBER 17, 2024
While the Canada Post Strike is officially over and Canada Post workers are returning to work, it will take a little time for everything to return to normal. At this time, we are looking to ship all backlogged Canada Post shipments still in our system between December 17th to the 20th, and will be looking to re-enable the Canada Post and Flat Rate shipping options on our website starting on December 23, 2024.
Please be aware that as per the negotiation update page found on the Canada Post website, (https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/en/our-company/news-and-media/corporate-news/negotiations/2024-12-16-resuming-operations-important-information-for-customers) Customers should continue to expect delivery delays through the remainder of 2024 and into January 2025.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of all of our customers during the shipping interruption during what is typically our busiest season of the year.
Original Post
Canada Post has begun to strike starting November 15 2024.
What does this mean for your orders?
The strike is currently a national labour disruption, and as such no parcels will be delivered and no new shipments will be accepted. We have temporarily disabling all Canada Post shipping options on our website, including Flat Rate Shipping until such time as a resolution had been made in the situation.
Please note that any pre-existing orders that have been processed through Canada Post will be delivered via Canada Post through a first in, first out basis once service resumes. Once an order has been processed through Canada Post we are unable to retrieve the order from them, or redirect the shipment in any way.
We are continuing to offer FedEx shipping to our customers at this time, and are continuing to investigate alternate shipping carriers in an effort to mitigate disruption as much as possible, however please note that due to this issue, there may be additional delays in our normal handling and shipping turnaround times.
For all customers who have placed an order with Canada Post Expedited Shipping, we will try to change your carrier to FedEx where we can.
** Please note that we are working on ways to prevent disruptions caused by this strike as much as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused.
